I recently called on Duncan to fly to Australia to help with a 16 track live performance with a client who wanted to record his poems.   The difficult thing about this job was the client wanted me to play and arrange his album on the fly, without any musical charts or scores, while he recited his poetry live. This was way out of my depth.

I told my client that there are very few people with the ability to achieve this, but that I knew the right man for the job – Duncan Mackay. We put him on the next flight out of Cape Town here to Cairns. Duncan sat behind the Kurzweil and just start playing and arranging, as my client recited his poetry and I recorded. Empathy, beauty and energy are what Duncan brought to the mix.

I had the opportunity of working with Duncan a year later whilst working with Rebeka Rain, resulting in the recording of a masterpiece of string arrangements.

I would have no trouble at all in recommending Duncan and his studio for your next project or recording.
