Duncan’s classical training (LTCL/LRSM) has been the grounding for his reputation as a world-class Hammond and keyboard player.
His career began touring South Africa and Zimbabwe with his own band, composing and recording his first solo album ‘Chimera’. Soon after moving back to the UK, he joined Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel, touring Europe and America, achieving his first of four gold albums.
As a session musician he featured with many top artists including Kate Bush, The Alan Parson’s Project and rock groups Camel and Budgie.
He became a member of the world-renowned group 10CC. His first recording with them resulted in the No 1 hit ‘Dreadlock Holiday’ from the album ‘Bloody Tourists’ and two more gold and platinum albums followed.
Three further solo albums were successfully released and for a number of years he was musical director and co-writer with Elkie Brooks.
He has composed for the SABC, several Animal Planet documentaries and has recorded and produced many other artists. He excels in writing to ‘picture’ creating music that compliments and enhances the visuals.
In 2015 Duncan toured with Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel celebrating 40 years since the release of their No.1 hit ‘Come up and see me make me smile’.
Duncan’s composing skills cover many genres from rock, pop and blues to an orchestral work recorded with the East Berlin Philharmonic. He continues to compose and record successful production albums for both KPM and Strange Fruit Music.
